Visited with family for early supper. Buzzy and busy canteen - so be ok with waiting a bit for a table. Friendly staff. Food really really good - we had maki, yakatori, nigiri, edamame and gyoza. All tasty. Highly recommend- finally found a decent sushi in Colchester.
Aburi is a favorite of ours - it's definately authentic for a Japanese Cafe - well worth a visit, but this is a canteen, not fine dining. Good prices, good service. Worth visiting.
I have eaten at Aburi consistently over the last 2 years. It has always had incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, with delicious and somewhat authentic Japanese cooking. The menu has a good variety ranging from classic sushi and ramen to a selection of cutlet bowls and bento. Cosy interior. Great place to bring family, partner or group of friends. However, service is sometimes slowed down in the evening due to a large number of deliveries, but this is not a constant. So if you are in a big group maybe go on a midweek night if you don't want to wait half an hour or longer for food. Generally, a great place to eat is excellent if you are tired of Wagamama's and want something more authentic and flavorful.
We go there very often. The fish is good and fresh. We are served really quickly and the personal is friendly. And definitely, the best sushi I ever tasted. Special mention for the golden dragons.
We've been here twice since discovering it and it's become a new favourite. The food is delicious, there's a great selection (for vegetarians and vegans too) and the food is consistently good. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the service is quick. Definitely recommend.
